A new window of opportunity has opened for ambitious international students, as Wuhan University introduces its 2025 Youth of Excellence Scheme (YES) of China Program under the Chinese Government Scholarship. This prestigious initiative offers full scholarships for master’s degree candidates in two dynamic English-taught programs: Geospatial Information Technology and Chinese Philosophy and Culture.
YES 2025 Program Overview
The 2-year master’s programs offered at Wuhan University starting from September 2025 follow an engaging “1+1” model:
- Year 1: Students will engage in full-time studies, research, and thesis preparation at Wuhan University.
- Year 2: Students will complete their thesis based on work experiences in their home country, culminating in a thesis defense back in China.
Successful participants will be awarded a Master’s degree upon completing the required credits and successfully defending their thesis.
Who Can Apply?
The Wuhan University’s YES scholarship 2025 offers full financial support and is open to international candidates under the age of 45, with a bachelor’s degree and at least three years of professional experience. Priority is given to candidates with backgrounds related to the selected program. Eligible applicants include:
- Government officials at or above the division chief level
- Senior managers in enterprises or institutions
- University administrators or scientific researchers
- Professionals with relevant experience in international organizations

Step 1: Register and submit your application through the Wuhan University Online Application System for International Students (https://admission.whu.edu.cn). Applicants who pass the review and interview stages will receive a pre-admission letter.
Step 2: Complete the application process through the Chinese Government Scholarship System (https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/#/login). Choose “Type A” for the YES scholarship at Wuhan University, with agency code 1563.
The China Scholarship Council (CSC) will conduct a final review of applications and announce successful candidates.
