Master Minds Belgium Scholarship 2025 at KU Leuven University

The Master Minds Scholarships, funded by the Flemish Ministry of Education and Training, offer international students a chance to pursue a Master’s degree in Flanders and Brussels. This prestigious scholarship includes a €10,000 grant and a full tuition fee waiver for each academic year.

Scholarship Overview

  • Scholarship Type: Full fee waiver and allowance
  • Coverage: €10,000 per academic year
  • Duration: One year for 60 ECTS Master’s programs or two years for 120 ECTS Master’s programs
  • Number of Scholarships: 30 scholarships for outstanding students; KU Leuven nominates 20 candidates
  • Priority Countries: Japan, Mexico, Palestine, and the USA

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must have outstanding academic performance, reflected in a high GPA.
  • Previous degrees must be obtained outside of Flanders, though international students who previously studied in Flanders as part of a credit mobility program may also apply.
  • Applicants must demonstrate English proficiency through tests such as TOEFL, IELTS, or Cambridge CPE unless they have completed an English-taught program in select English-speaking countries.
  • Students already enrolled at a Flemish higher education institution are ineligible, except those in specific preparatory programs.

Application Process

  1. Application Submission: Submit a complete file for an eligible Master’s program by 15 January 2025, including the KU Leuven Scholarships & Master Mind Candidacy Form.
  2. Online Registration: https://www.kuleuven.be/scholarships/year/2025-2026/master-mind-scholarship
  3. Selection: KU Leuven programs nominate students, and a Selection Commission shortlists up to 20 candidates. These nominees then compete at the Flemish level.

Important Dates

  • Applications Open: 17 October 2024
  • Deadline: 15 January 2025
  • Results Announced: End of May or early June 2025.
