What are the Dual Degree Programs?
The International College of Semiconductor Technology (ICST) at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) in Taiwan and the Institute of Microengineering and Nanoelectronics (IMEN) at the National University of Malaysia (UKM) have partnered to offer two programs:
- Double-Master Degree (DMD): Earn a master’s degree from both NYCU and UKM.
- Double-Doctoral Degree (DD): Earn a Ph.D. from both NYCU and UKM.

What are the Requirements?
- Eligibility: You’ll need to be accepted by both NYCU and UKM. The initial selection happens at your home university, and the final decision is made by the host university.
- Study Period: DMD: At least 2 years (1 semester at UKM, 2 at NYCU), and DD: At least 3 years (2 semesters at UKM, 4 at NYCU)
- Coursework: You’ll need to fulfill specific credit requirements at each university.
- Thesis: You’ll complete a thesis that is approved by both institutions.
How Do You Apply?
- Application Form: Submit the application form, consent letter, and CV to ICST (https://icst.nycu.edu.tw/?page_id=1276&lang=en)
- Confirmation Letter: If your application is successful, you’ll receive a confirmation letter from ICST.
- Online Application: Complete an online application through the NYCU Office of International Affairs.

- Fall Semester: December 20, 2024 – March 15, 2025
- Spring Semester: August 10, 2024 – September 30, 2024.
