Rowe Supplementary Scholarship Spring 2025 in USA
Latin American and Caribbean students studying in the United States have a new opportunity to receive financial support through the Leo S. Rowe Supplementary Scholarship. Thanks to a generous contribution from the U.S. Permanent Mission to the Organization of American States (OAS), this scholarship aims to ease the financial burden on deserving students who are F/J visa holders.
About the Scholarship
The Leo S. Rowe Supplementary Scholarship offers an additional USD $2,000 to help offset tuition and living expenses for Latin American and Caribbean students currently enrolled at accredited U.S. universities. This scholarship is designed to supplement the existing Rowe Fund interest-free loan, providing much-needed support for students in their final years of study.
Fields of Study
The scholarship is available to students across various fields of study, with a strong emphasis on STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) and environmental science disciplines. Please note that programs in medical fields, aviation, business administration, and legal studies are excluded from this opportunity.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Leo S. Rowe Supplementary Scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:
- Be a Latin American or Caribbean national holding an F/J visa.
- Be in the last two years of their undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral studies at an accredited U.S. university.
- Be eligible for and simultaneously applying for a Rowe Fund interest-free loan.
Applicants must demonstrate financial need, academic excellence, and a commitment to contributing to the development of their home region. It is important to note that receiving a Rowe Fund interest-free loan does not guarantee a scholarship award.
Application Process
To apply for the Leo S. Rowe Supplementary Scholarship, students must complete the Rowe Fund interest-free loan application. The scholarship application process includes submitting a statement outlining educational and career goals, as well as any unique personal or family circumstances that highlight the applicant’s need for financial assistance.
Applications are submitted online through the Rowe Fund Secretariat’s platform (https://www.oas.org/en/rowefund/ScholarshipConditions.asp). The program accepts applications year-round, with a monthly cutoff on the 5th day of each month. To be considered for a particular month, all application materials must be uploaded by the 5th.
Application Deadline: Open All Year 2024 for Spring 2025 session.
