The Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE) of China invites international students to apply for the Chinese Government Scholarship (Category B) for the 2025 academic year. This Chinese government SWUFE-CSC scholarship 2025 provides a fully funded opportunity for outstanding students to pursue master’s and doctoral degrees in China for free.
Whats Covered Under SWUFE-CSC Scholarship Plan?
Selected applicants will receive:
- Full Tuition Fee Coverage
- Free On-Campus Accommodation
- Monthly Living Allowance
- Master’s students: 3,000 RMB per month
- Doctoral students: 3,500 RMB per month
- Comprehensive Medical Insurance.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Nationality: Must be a non-Chinese citizen with a valid passport and in good health.
- Educational Background:
- Applying for a Master’s Degree: Hold a bachelor’s degree (or graduate by August 2025).
- Applying for a Ph.D. Degree: Hold a master’s degree (or graduate by August 2025).
- Age Limit:
- Master’s Program: Under 35 years old
- Doctoral Program: Under 40 years old
- Language Proficiency:
- For Chinese-Taught Programs:
- HSK Level 5 (score 180+) for direct entry.
- HSK Level 4 (score 180+) with a one-year preparatory Chinese course.
- For English-Taught Programs:
- Native English speakers or those with a 2-year degree taught in English are exempt.
- Non-native speakers: IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 80+.

Application Process
Candidates must complete the following steps in order to submit their CSC scholarship application for SWUFE:
- CSC Online Application
- Register at the CSC Online Application System http://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/#/register.
- Select Type B in “Program Category” and enter SWUFE’s Agency Number: 10651.
- SWUFE Online Application
- Apply through the https://swufe.17gz.org/.
- Pay the 600 RMB application fee (non-refundable).
- Upload Required Documents:
- ID photo (recent, within 6 months)
- Notarized degree certificates and transcripts
- Two recommendation letters (from professors/associate professors)
- Study plan (1,000+ words)
- Language certificates (HSK/IELTS/TOEFL)
- Passport (valid until March 2026)
- Physical Examination Form for Foreigners
- Non-Criminal Record Certificate
- Additional certificates/awards (optional)
Note: All documents must be in Chinese or English. If in another language, provide notarized translations.
