University of Dublin Announces Government of Ireland Scholarships 2025

The University of Dublin, in partnership with the Irish Higher Education Authority (HEA), has announced the opening of applications for the prestigious Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship (GOI-IES) for the academic year 2025/26. This initiative aims to attract top-tier non-EU/non-EEA students to pursue higher education in Ireland.

Key Scholarship Details

The Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship offers an exceptional opportunity to study in one of the world’s most dynamic education hubs. The scholarship package includes:

  • Full tuition fee waiver for the duration of the eligible program.
  • A €10,000 financial award, aimed at supporting living costs.

Each year, only 60 Irish fully-funded scholarships are awarded across all Irish Higher Education Institutions, making it one of the most competitive and prestigious awards for international students in Ireland.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the GOI-IES, applicants must meet the following conditions:

  1. Be classified under the non-EU fee rate.
  2. Hold an offer to study in one of the eligible programs at the University of Dublin or other Irish higher education institutions:
    • 1-year full-time taught Master’s program.
    • 1-year full-time PhD program.
  3. Be a citizen of a non-EU/non-EEA country.

Note: Applications will not be considered unless the applicant has an active offer to study in an eligible program.

Application Timeline and Process

  • Opening Date: 27th November 2024.
  • Deadline: 5th March 2025 (tentative).
  • Results Announcement: June or July 2025.
