About the UWA Scholarship

The Ocean Science Scholarship is offered through the Oceans Graduate School at UWA. It supports research in a variety of disciplines, including:

  • Oceanography

  • Marine Geoscience
  • Marine Ecology

Students undertaking a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Master of Philosophy (MPhil) are eligible to apply.

  • Scholarship Value: AUD $37,500 (stipend)

To qualify for the Ocean Science Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Hold a Master’s or Honours degree with a first-class honours result (WAM of 80+ or HD).
  • Be eligible to commence a PhD or MPhil at UWA.

  2. Submit Your Application:
    • Go to the PhD or MPhil course tabs on UWA’s online portal.
    • Click on the “Enquire here” button to create an account and submit your application.
    • Clearly indicate in your application that you are applying for the Ocean Science Scholarship.
  3. For Current Students: If already enrolled in a PhD/MPhil, express your interest by contacting the Graduate Research School via askUWA.
  • Application Submission Last Date: February 28, 2025
  • Program Start Date: Must commence before May 31, 2025.
