USTB China Fully funded Scholarship 2025

The University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB) has opened applications for the prestigious Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC) for the 2025 academic year. This fully funded scholarship supports high-level postgraduate programs, offering students from across the globe a chance to pursue master’s and doctoral degrees in China.

USTB Scholarship Coverage

The CSC Scholarship provides a comprehensive financial package, including:

  • Tuition fees: Fully covered.
  • Accommodation: On-campus housing included.
  • Living allowance: Monthly stipend to support living expenses.
  • Comprehensive medical insurance: Covers health-related costs during your stay in China.

Program Duration

  • Master’s Degree: 2–3 years
  • Doctoral Degree: 4 years
  • Elementary Chinese Course (if required): 1 year.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Nationality: Non-Chinese citizens in good health.
  2. Educational Background and Age:
    • Master’s applicants must have a bachelor’s degree and be under 35 years of age.
    • Doctoral applicants must have a master’s degree and be under 40 years of age.
  3. Language Proficiency:
    • For Chinese-Medium Programs: HSK Level 4 (or higher). Applicants with HSK4 may need to take a 1-year elementary Chinese course.
    • For English-Medium Programs: IELTS 6, TOEFL 80, or equivalent certification (applicable to non-native English speakers).

Application Process

The application process involves two key steps:

  1. Submit Application on CSC Platform
    • Log in to the Chinese Government Scholarship System (studyinchina.csc.edu.cn).
    • Choose Type B and enter agency number 10008.
    • Pre-admission notice is not required at this stage.
  2. Apply on USTB Platform

USTB will review applications, issue pre-admission notices to selected candidates, and forward recommendations to the CSC.


Required Application Documents

Applicants must prepare and upload the following documents:

  1. CSC Application Form (Type B, Agency Number 10008).
  2. Passport copy (valid until September 2025 or later).
  3. Verified degree certificates (bachelor’s and/or master’s).
  4. Academic transcripts (bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral, if applicable).
  5. Language proficiency certificates (HSK5, IELTS 6, TOEFL 80, etc.).
  6. Study plan/research proposal (minimum 1,000 words).
    • Doctoral applicants must include a supervisor’s signature.
  7. Two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors.
  8. Health certificate for foreigners (valid within 6 months).
  9. Certificate of no criminal record (valid within 6 months).
  10. Acceptance letter from a USTB supervisor (recommended for PhD applicants).
  11. Academic publications (if applicable).
  12. Personal works (for art/design-related majors).
