The YES China Program at Zhejiang University offers three master’s degree programs, all taught in English:
- Master in Energy and Power Engineering (2 years, “1+1” Mode)
- Master in China Studies (1 year)
- Master in Chinese Economy (2 years, “1+1” Mode)
What is the ‘1+1’ Mode?
In this unique joint program, students spend their first academic year at Zhejiang University for coursework, research, and thesis preparation. The second year is spent in their home country for thesis writing based on work experience, followed by a final thesis defense.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Be a non-Chinese citizen under the age of 45 with good physical and mental health.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher, with at least three years of work experience.
- Belong to one of the following categories:
- Senior governmental officials (division chief level or higher)
- Senior management staff of institutions or enterprises
- Administrative staff of universities and colleges
- Individuals with relevant work experience or internships in international organizations.
Application Process
Step 1: Apply to Zhejiang University

- Complete and submit the ZJU Application Form along with required documents.
- Send the ZJU Application Form to [email protected] with the email title “Application for Youth of Excellence Scheme of China Program Chinese Government Scholarship.”

- Non-Criminal Record Certificate (issued within 6 months)
- Employment or Work Experience Certificate.
Step 2: Apply via the CSC Online System
Applicants who receive a pre-admission notice must complete their application via the China Scholarship Council (CSC) Online Application System with following details:

Step 3: Scholarship Review & Notification
The China Scholarship Council (CSC) will review all applications and select recipients. Final results will be announced in early August 2025 via the Online Application System for International Students.
