The DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) has officially opened the call for applications for its 2025 scholarships for a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Food Science and Technology at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology (DeKUT) in Kenya. This is a prestigious opportunity for Sub-Saharan African students to further their academic careers in food science while receiving extensive financial and research support.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Nationality: Must be nationals or permanent residents of a Sub-Saharan African country.
- Academic Requirements: A BSc degree in Food Science and Technology or a related field (Food Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Nutrition, Agri-processing, etc.) with at least Second Class Honours (Upper Division) or equivalent.
- Commitment: Must demonstrate strong motivation and commitment.
- Language Proficiency: Thorough knowledge of spoken and written English is required.
- Recent Graduates: Must have completed the last university degree no more than six years ago at the time of application.
- Professional Standing: Applicants should be (a) a staff member of a public university, (b) a candidate for teaching or research staff recruitment, or (c) from the public sector and/or alumni of the DAFI programme.
- Encouraged Applicants: Female applicants, refugees with recognized status, and candidates from less privileged regions or groups are strongly encouraged to apply.

- Submit the completed form and required documents (in a single merged PDF) to: [email protected]. The email subject line should include your name and MSc programme applied for.

- 1 recommendation letter from a university lecturer
- Certified copies of degree certificates and transcripts
- Letter of motivation (1–2 pages)
