Dedan Kimathi University of Technology DAAD Scholarship 2025 Call

The DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) has officially opened the call for applications for its 2025 scholarships for a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Food Science and Technology at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology (DeKUT) in Kenya. Eligibility Criteria:

  • Nationality: Must be nationals or permanent residents of a Sub-Saharan African country.
  • Academic Requirements: A BSc degree in Food Science and Technology or a related field (Food Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Nutrition, Agri-processing, etc.) with at least Second Class Honours (Upper Division) or equivalent.
  • Commitment: Must demonstrate strong motivation and commitment.
  • Language Proficiency: Thorough knowledge of spoken and written English is required.
  • Recent Graduates: Must have completed the last university degree no more than six years ago at the time of application.
  • Professional Standing: Applicants should be (a) a staff member of a public university, (b) a candidate for teaching or research staff recruitment, or (c) from the public sector and/or alumni of the DAFI programme.
  • Encouraged Applicants: Female applicants, refugees with recognized status, and candidates from less privileged regions or groups are strongly encouraged to apply.

Required Documents:

  • Curriculum vitae (CV)
  • 1 recommendation letter from a university lecturer
  • Certified copies of degree certificates and transcripts
  • Letter of motivation (1–2 pages)
  • Copy of passport or national ID
  • Short research concept for the Master’s thesis (maximum 3 pages).

Application Deadline: November 21, 2024.
