Interning at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) offers a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in foreign policy and international affairs in 2025. Through its Blavatnik Internship Program and Robina Franklin Williams Internship Program, CFR provides paid internships that expose interns to a dynamic environment of experts and policymakers while developing their professional skills.

1# New York Office

Internship opportunities span across departments such as digital content, foreign affairs, global business, education, and more. Examples include:

3# Remote Opportunities

Internships in digital content, global communications, and related fields are available on a fully remote basis.


Eligibility Criteria

To qualify:

  1. Be an undergraduate or graduate student with at least four semesters of completed college coursework.
  2. Major in international relations, political science, economics, or related fields.
  3. Have skills in administration, research, writing, and computer usage.
  4. Commit 14–18 hours per week.
  5. Possess legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Additional qualifications, such as regional specializations or language skills, may apply to certain roles.
