Scholarship Benefits
This highly competitive scholarship provides an outstanding package, including:
- Annual Maintenance Stipend: £22,000 or top-up to this level if the candidate has other funding.
- Tuition Fee Coverage: Full payment of Home, EU, or Overseas fees.
- Accommodation Support: Free University accommodation worth up to £4,635 per year or an equivalent allowance for off-campus living.
- Tech Allowance: A laptop or desktop computer worth up to £1,000.
- Conference Funding: Up to £500 for conference expenses in the second and third years of study.
Eligibility Criteria
The scholarship is open to all prospective full-time PhD students regardless of nationality, tuition fee status, or subject area. However, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a formal offer for a PhD programme at the University of Liverpool.
- Possess or be likely to attain a first-class honours degree (or equivalent).
- Demonstrate efforts to secure alternate postgraduate funding, with the Duncan Norman Research Scholarship serving as a top-up if awarded.
- Be prepared to attend events organised by The Duncan Norman Charitable Trust in Liverpool.
Ineligible Candidates:
- MRes students, those registered at Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, or XJTLU-based students.
- Currently registered University of Liverpool MPhil/PhD students or off-site candidates.
