The Human Rights Scholarship 2026 is now open for applications at one of Australia’s leading institutions. This prestigious scholarship supports graduate research students, both Australian/New Zealand and international, who are committed to advancing human rights through research and real-world action.
Scholarship Overview

- Duration: Up to 2 years (Master by Research) and up to 3.5 years (Doctoral research).
What’s Included?
- Annual living allowance of $43,500 (2025 full-time study rate), indexed and including paid sick, maternity, and parenting leave.
- Full tuition fee offset: Up to 2 years (Masters), and up to 4 years (Doctoral)
- Relocation grant: $2,000 (from another Australian state/territory), and $3,000 (from outside Australia)
- Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for international students.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply, you must:
- Be applying for or already enrolled in a graduate research program (Masters or PhD) in Human Rights.
- Not have completed a qualification at the same or higher research level.
- Not have previously received a graduate research scholarship.
- Demonstrate a strong academic background, passion for human rights, and relevant volunteer or work experience.

- Clearly outline their commitment to peaceful human rights advocacy beyond academics, and
- Explain how their research contributes to the field of human rights.
