Africa Scholarship 2026 January Entry at University of Lincoln

The University of Lincoln has officially opened applications for its Africa Scholarship for the January 2026 entry, offering an excellent opportunity for students from across Africa to pursue postgraduate taught studies in the UK.

Supporting Postgraduate Study

The Africa Scholarship is designed to support ambitious students from African nations who wish to study full-time postgraduate taught programmes at Lincoln. This initiative provides financial assistance in the form of a tuition fee discount, easing the cost of international education while encouraging academic excellence.

Africa Scholarship Value

For the 2025/26 and 2026/27 academic years, the Africa Scholarship offers a reduction in tuition fees valued at £4,000 or £5,000, applied in the first year of study. The award amount depends on the applicant’s academic qualifications.

  • £5,000 Award: Available to students who hold a Bachelor’s degree equivalent to a UK 2:1 classification, or who have completed a Pre-Master’s or an equivalent postgraduate qualification with strong results.
  • £4,000 Award: Granted to students holding a Bachelor’s degree equivalent to a UK 2:2 classification, or a Pre-Master’s degree with comparable results.

Students enrolling in a Pre-Master’s programme will receive the scholarship upon progressing to their main postgraduate programme.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Africa Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be nationals of, or hold permanent residency in, an African country (with Egypt having a separate scholarship scheme).
  • Hold a Conditional or Unconditional Offer from the University of Lincoln for a full-time postgraduate taught programme beginning in September 2025, January 2026, September 2026, or January 2027.

In addition to this award, eligible students may also qualify for other fee discounts, such as the Advance Full Payment Discount or Early Payment Discount, valued between £1,000 and £1,500.

Why It Matters?

The Africa Scholarship reflects the University of Lincoln’s commitment to creating inclusive opportunities for international students. By offering financial support and recognising academic achievements, the scholarship programme aims to attract talented graduates from across Africa to join Lincoln’s vibrant postgraduate community.
