Scholarship Admissions 2027 Open at Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII)

Could your next master’s take you to Indonesia to study data science, climate policy, sustainable finance, education, law or Islamic studies? Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) lists scholarship routes for Indonesian and international applicants, with its general admission window running until 31 March 2027. For applicants seeking the university’s own master’s scholarship, the first decision is whether you qualify for a first master’s: existing master’s graduates and students already enrolled in a master’s are excluded.

There is also a timing distinction worth getting right. UIII’s main timeline places scholarship applications on 22–29 April 2027, after Letters of Acceptance are issued. You can prepare your admission application now, but admission does not automatically secure funding.

UIII: Apply for Admission First, Check Your Funding Route Next
Status: General admissions open; main scholarship application period scheduled for April 2027.
Who qualifies: UIII master’s scholarship: Indonesian and international applicants aged no more than 35, without a completed or ongoing master’s.
Study location and duration: Depok, West Java, Indonesia; master’s scholarship duration is four semesters, or two years.
Funding: Scholarship routes are listed; the current admission page does not specify the new round’s exact benefit package or monthly stipend.
English: Accepted tests and some master’s exemptions are listed; programme-specific scores must be checked.
Application fee: USD 50 for international applicants; IDR 750,000 for Indonesian applicants.
Key dates: Admission closes 31 March 2027; main scholarship applications run 22–29 April 2027.
Official information checked: 1 October 2026. The portal still displays a 2026/2027 intake label despite its 2027 selection dates.

What financial support can you count on at UIII?

The exact funding package for the new scholarship round is not stated on the current admissions page. UIII’s wider institutional information describes scholarships that typically cover tuition, living expenses and other allowances, with support such as insurance, travel, books and research also described elsewhere. However, those descriptions do not establish that every listed scheme provides identical benefits.

Before committing financially, confirm the tuition coverage, monthly allowance, accommodation arrangements and travel support for your specific award. A two-year scholarship duration does not, by itself, confirm that all living costs are paid. UIII also prohibits recipients of its scholarship from receiving other funding sources.

Which UIII scholarship matches your nationality and degree?

The general UIII Scholarship is the broadest listed master’s route for Indonesian and international applicants. You need an accredited bachelor’s degree with at least 3.00/4.00 GPA, must study full-time and should demonstrate academic strength, leadership and social or extracurricular involvement. The scholarship’s maximum age is 35, and it excludes applicants who already hold or are currently pursuing a master’s.

Scholarship route Who it targets Degree, duration and maximum age
UIII Scholarship Indonesian and international first-master’s applicants Master’s: 2 years; age 35
PEMRI–UIII Outstanding applicants from Afghanistan Master’s: 2 years; age 35
Netherlands–UIII Women from Afghanistan PhD: 4 years; age 40
PhD LPDP–UIII Indonesian and international applicants PhD: 4 years; age 40; next registration window needs confirmation
INSANI–UIII Applicants from 17 designated countries Master’s: 2 years, age 37; PhD: 4 years, age 43; next registration window needs confirmation
Double Degree LPDP Indonesian citizens under the Affirmation Scheme 1 year at UIII plus 1 overseas; age 35

INSANI’s countries are Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Maldives, Mauritania, Morocco, Mozambique, Palestine, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia and Yemen. It excludes executive master’s classes and the PhD in Political Science specializing in Sustainable Development Policy and Governance.

Doctoral admission generally requires a master’s GPA of at least 3.50/4.00, a research proposal and academic writing. Family members cannot receive the same scholarship while one is enrolled at UIII, or apply for that same scholarship in the same academic year.

What can you study, and do you need IELTS?

UIII’s master’s scholarship list extends well beyond Islamic studies, and IELTS is one accepted language route rather than the only option. Listed subjects include political science and international relations, climate-related public policy, economics, sustainable finance, education, data science and law. Islamic Studies, Digital Islam and Turath Islam are also included.

The general master’s table lists TOEFL ITP 525, TOEFL iBT 80, PTE Academic 58 or IELTS 6.0. Law requires TOEFL ITP 550 or IELTS 6.5. However, Islamic Studies and Digital Islam programme details specify IELTS 6.5, so check your exact programme before booking a test. Certificates must remain within the stated two-year validity limit before study begins; Duolingo is not listed as an accepted option.

The general master’s rules exempt native English speakers and graduates of English-medium universities from the English proficiency requirement. Confirm the evidence required and whether that exemption satisfies scholarship selection. Turath Islam has Arabic requirements, including TOAFL 550 unless an applicable exemption is accepted.

How do you apply for UIII admission and scholarship consideration?

Choose one programme, complete admission first and then follow the scholarship process applicable to your award. UIII does not accept simultaneous applications to multiple programmes.

  1. Check your programme and scholarship route. Read the qualifications, programme details and relevant timeline on the official UIII admissions page. Ask [email protected] to clarify the intake label, funding package and any conflicting language scores.
  2. Prepare your documents. Assemble degree certificates, transcripts, CV, motivation letter, language evidence and academic references as required by your programme. Doctoral applicants should prepare a research proposal of approximately 1,500–2,000 words and the requested writing samples. Most programme documents are in English; Turath Islam specifies Arabic.
  3. Resolve GPA conversion. International applicants with a GPA scale other than 4.00 must provide a Scholarship conversion. Indonesian applicants with overseas degrees must follow the stated diploma-equivalency and GPA-conversion requirements.
  4. Submit and pay. Use the UIII application portal, select your programme and pay USD 50 if international or IDR 750,000 if Indonesian. Email and offline applications are not accepted.
  5. Complete selection and follow the funding instructions. The main timeline places Letters of Acceptance on 19–22 April 2027 and scholarship applications on 22–29 April. Partner awards may use separate registration systems and dates; do not assume the main window covers every scholarship.

Which UIII deadline should applicants work towards?

The last date to apply for admission to Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia under the main published timeline is 31 March 2027. That window began on 23 September 2026. The main scholarship application period is 22–29 April 2027, with a result announcement listed for 30 April 2027.

As checked on 1 October 2026, the separate LPDP and INSANI selectors still show expired 2026 registration periods, so their next deadlines remain unconfirmed. The portal’s 2026/2027 heading also conflicts with its 2027 selection dates; confirm the intended academic intake with UIII before submitting.
