MS/PHD HUST-CSC Scholarships 2027 Open at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST)
Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) in Wuhan has opened its Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC) Type B application window for 2027 entry. If you are targeting a master’s or PhD, the direct university route is open now; if you are seeking undergraduate funding, the ordinary Chinese University Program is not your route, and the more restricted Silk Road option may be relevant only if your nationality and subject fit.
That distinction matters because CSC “Type B” is not one universal scholarship call. HUST lists a postgraduate Chinese University Program and a Silk Road Program with specific countries, subjects and degree levels, while Type A applications are handled through a dispatching authority in your home country.
This guide helps you identify the route, understand the current deadline and follow the sequence without confusing university pre-admission with a final CSC scholarship award.
Choose your HUST scholarship route
01 Which HUST CSC route should you choose?
Choose based on who receives your application and whether your program matches the HUST award. The direct Type B route is handled by HUST, while Type A is handled by the applicant’s home-country dispatching authority; these routes have separate instructions and deadlines.
| Route | Who / what it covers | Where to apply | HUST 2027 deadline |
|---|---|---|---|
| Type A Bilateral Program | Applicants for undergraduate, postgraduate and scholar programs, subject to the home-country agreement and authority rules. | Your country’s dispatching authority, such as an education ministry or Chinese embassy office. HUST says a pre-admission document is preferred. | HUST gives a general period of late November to early April; your country’s authority sets the controlling deadline. |
| Type B Chinese University Program | Master’s and doctoral applicants. HUST’s agency number is 10487. | Apply directly to HUST; after university review, complete the CSC system submission as instructed. | October 15, 2026 to February 25, 2027. |
| Type B Silk Road Program | Applicants from Russia, Malaysia, Mongolia, Laos, Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, Bangladesh, Vietnam or Pakistan, in the specified degree and subject combinations. | Apply directly to HUST and use the Type B CSC system route. | Master’s and PhD: February 25, 2027. Bachelor’s: April 30, 2027. |
The Silk Road subject list is specific: bachelor’s applicants can target Chinese-medium Architecture or Software Engineering; master’s and doctoral applicants can target English-medium Computer Science and Technology, Civil Engineering or Chemistry. The other Type B Chinese University Program is for graduate applicants only. I recommend checking that distinction before preparing a bachelor’s application, because the scholarship name alone does not establish undergraduate eligibility.

02 What does the 2027 HUST award cover, and what remains uncertain?
HUST’s most recently published international graduate guide describes its Chinese Government Scholarship as a full scholarship covering tuition, accommodation, a stipend and medical insurance. The current 2027 scholarship summary does not list the monthly stipend amount, dormitory terms or a 2027 graduate program catalogue, so treat those details as pending rather than assuming last year’s figures or program list remain unchanged.
HUST’s current 2027 scholarship information lists a non-refundable RMB 800 application fee for the direct Type B route. Its 2026 graduate guide listed a different application fee, so use the amount shown in the live 2027 HUST application system and current scholarship notice before paying. Type A has no HUST application fee, but your dispatching authority may set its own process.
The preceding HUST graduate guide set baseline standards for degree level, academic performance and language evidence, but those were published for 2026 admission. My recommendation is to prepare your transcripts, certificates, CV, study plan and language evidence now, then check each requirement against the 2027 degree guide before final submission. A prospective supervisor’s acceptance letter is optional in the general guide but required by some programs.

03 How You Can apply for HUST CSC Type B Scholarship?
For the direct HUST route, the university reviews your academic application first; the CSC system submission follows the university’s instructions. Use the current HUST 2027 scholarship route and deadline page as the controlling source for which Type B category and window apply to you.
- Select the Chinese University Program or Silk Road Program. Confirm your degree level, country eligibility and exact HUST subject before beginning.
- Use the HUST online application system to apply for admission and complete the academic review. Follow the current 2027 application prompts for documents and any online assessment; the 2027 graduate document list has not yet been published in the scholarship summary.
- Pay the current fee shown in the 2027 HUST system if you are applying directly under Type B. The scholarship overview lists RMB 800 and describes the fee as non-refundable. Keep the receipt.
- After HUST’s review and pre-admission decision, submit the scholarship application through the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System. Choose Type B and enter HUST agency number 10487 for the university program; upload matching materials and your HUST document as directed.
- Monitor both systems and your email. HUST’s nomination is not the final scholarship award; the CSC review and final university admission notice still follow.
For Type A, do not send the application to HUST as if it were a direct Type B call. HUST says applicants must follow the dispatching authority in their own country; requesting a HUST pre-admission letter may help if that authority accepts it.

04 HUST CSC Scholarship 2027: applicant FAQs
Applicants commonly mix up the Type A and Type B submission destinations or assume that every Type B route serves every degree. HUST’s current scholarship information separates these routes as follows.
Can I apply to HUST directly for Type A?
No. The Type A Bilateral Program is handled through your home-country dispatching authority, not HUST’s direct Type B process. HUST says applicants may seek a pre-admission document, but the authority’s country-specific instructions control the application.
Can bachelor’s applicants use HUST’s Chinese University Program?
No. HUST lists its Chinese University Program for master’s and doctoral applicants only. Bachelor’s applicants may fit the Silk Road Program only if their nationality and intended major match HUST’s listed restrictions.
Does a HUST pre-admission letter mean I have won the scholarship?
No. HUST pre-admission indicates preliminary academic acceptance; it is not the final CSC award. Complete the CSC Type B submission after HUST’s review and wait for the final scholarship decision.
Are applicants from Pakistan eligible for the HUST Silk Road route?
Yes, Pakistan is one of the ten countries HUST lists for its 2027 Silk Road Program. Applicants still need to choose one of the specified subjects and meet the route’s degree and language conditions.

05 HUST CSC Scholarship 2027 deadlines
The last date to apply for HUST’s Chinese Government Scholarship Type B Chinese University Program for master’s and doctoral studies is February 25, 2027. The application window runs from October 15, 2026 to February 25, 2027.
For the HUST Type B Silk Road Program, the deadline is February 25, 2027 for master’s and doctoral applicants and April 30, 2027 for bachelor’s applicants. The Type A Bilateral Program has no single HUST deadline: HUST lists a general late-November-to-early-April period, but your home-country dispatching authority’s deadline is the one you must meet. All dates are subject to the applicable route instructions and portal cutoff time.
Whereas, you can also consider to apply for China scholarships at these 32 Universities with low GPA requirements as well.
