Shortlisted entries gain bragging rights and exposure, while winners and honorable mentions receive a tangible award and cash prizes of 500 and 200 euros respectively. However, through our membership program—akin to a crowdfunding campaign—the prize pot can increase significantly. As support thresholds are met, the cash prize for winners could surge to 1000 euros, with honorable mentions potentially receiving up to 400 euros.

If you’ve created any walking-related art in 2024, you’re eligible to enter. It’s important to note that sound walks have their own special place under the Sound Walk September Awards, so keep this in mind when you submit to the Marŝarto Awards.

What makes the Marŝarto Awards even more exciting is the involvement of both a professional Online Jury and the general public. After a shortlist is crafted by the Online Jury, the Grand Jury takes over to pick the winners based on collaboratively defined criteria. Starting in 2024, public engagement will also play a crucial role. The submission garnering the most likes, which hasn’t been shortlisted by the Online Jury, will also make it to the final list.
