ITU DeepMind Scholarships 2024 Now Open

Istanbul Technical University (ITU) Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Applied Research Center (ITU AI) and Google DeepMind are thrilled to announce the launch of the Google DeepMind Scholarships for the Fall 2024-2025 term.

This initiative aims to empower and support female graduate students at ITU specializing in artificial intelligence. Here’s everything you need to know about this prestigious scholarship.

ITU Deep Mind Scholarship Benefits

The ITU DeepMind Scholarship offers an array of benefits designed to support the academic and professional growth of its recipients:

  • Duration: The scholarship covers four semesters for the M.Sc. program.
  • Stipend: Recipients will receive a monthly stipend of $1,000.
  • Equipment Grant: A one-off equipment grant of $1,500 will be provided.
  • Travel Grant: An annual academic travel grant of $2,250 will be available.
  • Mentorship: Each scholarship recipient will be matched with a researcher from Google DeepMind for mentorship on personal and career development in the field of AI.

Qualifications Required

To be eligible for the ITU DeepMind Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Gender Requirement: Applicants must identify as female.
  • Nationality: International applications are welcome.
  • Academic Admission: Applicants must be admitted to one of the eligible M.Sc. programs at ITU for the Fall 2024-2025 term. The eligible programs are:
    • Computer Engineering/Computer Science
    • Electrical/Electronics Engineering
    • Physics
    • Control and Automation Engineering
    • Mathematics
    • Game and Interaction Technologies
    • Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering

For non-Computer Engineering/Computer Science tracks, the scholarship will only be awarded to those with a research focus in AI. Master’s students need to pursue four AI electives and write an AI-related thesis.

Interested candidates should submit their application documents to [email protected] as per this call letter (https://ai.itu.edu.tr/deepmindscholarship/). The required documents include:

  • CV and academic transcript
  • A statement of purpose detailing previous research experience in AI and future research objectives for graduate studies
  • Up to three reference letters
