Leiden University’s Excellence Scholarship February 2025 intake

Calling all non-EEA/non-EFTA students with brains and ambition! If you’ve been daydreaming about getting your Master’s degree in the heart of Europe, surrounded by canals and windmills (and maybe some world-class academics), listen up.

Leiden University in the Netherlands is throwing some serious scholarship money at exceptional students like YOU. But hurry, because the deadline for the February 2025 semester is October 1, 2024!

What’s the Deal?

The Leiden University Excellence Scholarship (LExS) is a prestigious award that covers a significant chunk of your tuition fees. We’re talking €10,000, €15,000, or even your entire tuition minus the statutory fees. Not too shabby, right?

Why Leiden?

Besides the obvious charm of the Netherlands (stroopwafels, anyone?), Leiden University is a top-tier research institution with a long and illustrious history. They offer a wide range of Master’s programs in everything from Archaeology to Law to Science. Plus, the city of Leiden is a vibrant student town with plenty of cultural attractions and nightlife.

Who’s Eligible?

If you’re a non-EEA/non-EFTA student with a stellar academic record (think top 10% of your class), and you’re not eligible for Dutch student finance, you’re in the running. There are a few exceptions for certain programs, so be sure to check the details.
