RAS Foundation Rural Scholarships 2025 at Royal Agricultural Society NSW

Students living in rural areas of New South Wales (NSW) and the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) often face the challenging decision of leaving their homes and support systems behind in order to pursue their education. The RAS Foundation Rural Scholarships aim to provide financial relief to such students, allowing them to focus on their studies while still maintaining connections with their families and communities.

This scholarship is specifically designed to support students from regional areas who are passionate about contributing to the future of rural and regional NSW. By easing the financial burden, it ensures that these students can pursue the same educational opportunities as those in metropolitan areas.

Scholarship Benefits

  • Full-Time Students: Scholarships of up to $7,000 are awarded to full-time students.
  • Part-Time Students: Part-time students are eligible for up to $3,500.
  • The scholarship is paid in three instalments throughout the year, with the first payment in April.

Who Can Apply?

The RAS Foundation Rural Scholarship is open to students who meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Residency: Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents.
  • Enrollment: Students must be enrolled in or applying for any accredited tertiary course, including university, TAFE, or college. Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses also qualify.
  • Desire to Contribute: Applicants must demonstrate a passion for the future success of rural and regional NSW.
  • Education Level: Must have completed at least Year 10. However, students enrolled in school-based apprenticeships and traineeships are not eligible to apply.

What Courses Qualify?

There are no restrictions on the types of courses that qualify for the scholarship. Whether you are pursuing a degree in medicine, teaching, agriculture, physiotherapy, horticulture, veterinary nursing, or metal fabrication, you are eligible to apply. The scholarship is available for students studying full-time or part-time, with no age limit.
