The Tokyo Japanese Language Education Center has officially opened applications for its University Preparatory Course and Graduate School Preparatory Course for the 2025 intake. These courses aim to equip international students with the necessary language and academic skills for university or graduate school studies in Japan.

Program Highlights

1# Duration Options:

    • One-Year Program: Commences in April 2025
    • One and a Half Year Program: Starts in October 2025

2# Course Capacity:

    • University Preparatory Course: 120 (One Year), 60 (One and a Half Years)
    • Graduate School Preparatory Course: 60 (One Year), 40 (One and a Half Years)

These programs are designed to offer focused academic and language preparation to international students aspiring to further their studies in Japan.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Be foreign nationals (non-Japanese citizens).
  • Have completed at least 12 years of education outside Japan. (High school graduates with less than 12 years may be eligible if their education is equivalent to Japanese standards.)
  • Have a genuine intention to pursue higher education in Japan.

Screening and Admission

The school committee will review applications and may conduct interviews if necessary. Admission results will be communicated via email, and successful applicants will receive an Admission Certificate.

Visa Assistance

The Tokyo Japanese Language Education Center provides visa support by applying for the Certificate of Eligibility (COE) on behalf of accepted students. Upon receiving the COE, students can apply for a student visa at their local Japanese embassy or consulate.

Application Deadlines

  • One-Year Program (April 2025 start): September 2, 2024 – November 29, 2024
  • One and a Half Year Program (October 2025 start): March 3, 2025 – May 30, 2025.
