What is AGRTPS (International) 2025?
The Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarship (AGRTPS) is a Commonwealth Sponsored Scholarship designed to support international students enrolling in a Higher Degree by Research (HDR). Each year, up to 6 international scholarships are awarded to outstanding candidates demonstrating strong academic and research potential.
AGTRPS Scholarship 2026 Value and Benefits
- Annual Stipend: AUD $35,010 (2025 rate) – tax-free, paid fortnightly
- Tuition Fee Offset: Full coverage for up to 4 years
- Health Insurance: Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
- Relocation Grant: Up to AUD $1,485 for airfare and settlement in Adelaide (with receipts).
AGTRPS 2026 Eligibility Criteria
To be considered, applicants must:
- Be a citizen of any country except New Zealand and not hold Australian permanent residency or citizenship
- Be commencing full-time HDR study in Australia for the first time in 2025
- Apply in an area of research concentration at Flinders University
- Meet the English language proficiency requirements
- Satisfy all entry requirements for HDR programs at Flinders
- Submit a competitive academic record, research proposal, and research publications (up to 5).

AGTRPS Application Submission Checklist
To apply, prepare the following:
- Informal Supervisor Agreement – Contact a potential research supervisor and obtain written confirmation
- Certified Academic Transcripts – Translated into English
- Research Proposal – ~500 words outlining your topic, hypothesis, and methodology
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) – Include research experience and publication list
- Publications (max 5) – Each with a coversheet and English summary
- Two Academic Referee Reports – Sent directly by referees to Flinders
- Proof of English Proficiency – As per university requirements.
