This highly regarded prize, organized by the Khalili Foundation in partnership with the Commonwealth Secretariat, offers a £50,000 financial award to the winner to further their peacebuilding efforts.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Commonwealth Peace Prize, the candidate must:

  • Be a living Commonwealth citizen over the age of 30.
  • Possess a proven track record in peacebuilding, with measurable contributions to ending conflicts, fostering social cohesion, or promoting lasting peace.
  • Use faith-based principles or the Commonwealth Charter’s values to achieve sustainable peace.
  • Exhibit significant influence as a respected broker between conflicting parties.
  • Uphold and advocate for Commonwealth values, including tolerance, diversity, and religious freedom.
