Demark Increased Skilled Worker Hiring Quota in New Positive List Issued in July 2025
Denmark, one of Europe’s most forward-thinking nations, officially updates its Positive List twice a year—on January 1 and July 1—and the latest July 2025 update just dropped a bombshell of opportunities for skilled professionals and graduates around the world.
The Positive List is Denmark’s fast-track immigration route for foreigners whose professions are in short supply. And now, with over 40 new occupations added, the door to a new life in Denmark just swung wide open for thousands.
Higher Education Positive List Grows from 162 to 190 Roles!
In a major boost for degree-holding professionals, the Higher Education Positive List has expanded by 28 new job titles, pushing the total to 190. This list targets those with university-level education and relevant work experience.
Noteworthy New Additions:
- Head of Finances / Logistics
- Hardware Developers
- Movie, TV & Animation Designers
- Business Intelligence Managers
- Management Consultants
- IT Engineers
- Communication Officers
If you’re a graduate in IT, engineering, media, logistics, or management, this is your golden ticket to secure a residence and work permit in Denmark—without the usual immigration roadblocks.
No occupations were removed, so the field is only growing.
Skilled Work Positive List Expanded from 48 to 65 Jobs!
Denmark is also urgently seeking skilled tradespeople and technicians. The Skilled Work Positive List now includes 17 new roles, offering tradespeople the same fast-track benefits as university graduates.
️ New Jobs on the Skilled List:
- Blacksmiths
- Electricity Distribution Technicians
- Service Technicians
- Electronics Mechanics
However, some jobs have been removed from the list, including:
- IT Supporters
- Webmasters
- Secretaries
- Finance Assistants
- Welders
If your job is now off the list, consider alternate visa options, but if you’re in a newly added profession—start your application now.
What This Means for You
If your profession is now on the list, you qualify to apply for a Danish residence and work permit—often with simplified procedures, quicker approvals, and high acceptance rates. It’s the perfect time to prepare your documents and submit an application.
