Eastern Washington University Scholarships 2025 Announcement

Eastern Washington University (EWU) announced opening of scholarship applications window for the 2025-2026 academic year, giving current and prospective students the chance to benefit from the university’s substantial financial support.

With over $9.7 million in scholarships awarded annually, EWU provides aid based on various factors, including academic performance, majors, community service, and unique life experiences.

Application Deadlines:

  • Scholarship Application Opens: November 1, 2024
  • EWU Priority Admissions Deadline: January 15, 2025
  • Scholarship Application Deadline: February 1, 2025
  • Notification of Scholarship Awards: Late April 2025.

What You’ll Need:

  • Transcripts: High school or college transcripts, including any coursework material.
  • Essays: Prepare five short essays on topics including your choice of major, future goals, community service experience, challenges faced, and why you should be chosen.
  • Additional Materials for Specific Majors: Some programs, such as Biology, Education, Business, and Communication Sciences, require additional essays, resumes, or recommendation letters. Be sure to start early if these apply to you!

Freshmen-Specific Scholarships:

New freshmen applicants are also eligible for additional awards, including:

  • Automatic Scholarships for incoming Washington residents, worth $1,000–$3,000.
  • Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) Scholarship, saving eligible students from Western states up to $15,000 in tuition.
  • Honors Scholarships with an annual award of $1,000 for students in the Honors Program.

Application Process:

  1. Apply to EWU: https://www.ewu.edu/apply/financial-aid-scholarships-office/types-of-financial-aid/scholarships/
  2. Wait for EWU to issue your Username (allow 48 hours).
  3. Use your Username to complete the scholarship application.
  4. Submit your FAFSA for financial need consideration.
