Fellowship Overview

  • Position Title: Emmett/Frankel Fellow in Environmental Law and Policy
  • Focus Area: Environmental governance in China and US-China climate policy and green development
  • Duration: Two years, starting July 1, 2025
  • Location: UCLA School of Law, Los Angeles, CA
  • Salary: Approximately $90,000 annually, plus a competitive benefits package

Fellows will engage in groundbreaking research, contribute to publications, and collaborate on projects such as conferences and workshops. They will work under the guidance of Professor Alex Wang, a leading expert in climate and environmental policy.

Eligibility Requirements

Candidates should possess:

  • A J.D., Ph.D., or other terminal degree (e.g., J.D./M.A. or J.D./M.S.) in environmental studies, law, or social sciences.
  • Strong academic credentials with excellent analytical and writing skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in Chinese climate policy, green development, and/or US-China geopolitical competition.
  • Proficiency in Chinese language (oral and written) and prior experience working on Chinese law and policy is highly preferred.
