If you are a Belarusian student who has faced political persecution—or threats of it—and dream of studying abroad in freedom, the European Union has just opened a life-changing door for you.
As part of its powerful stand for academic freedom and human rights, the EU4Belarus – SALT III Program is now accepting applications for its 2025 Master’s Student Support Scheme, offering financial and institutional support for full-time Master’s studies in Czech Republic, Latvia, Lithuania, or Poland.
What’s on Offer?
- €550 monthly stipend for up to 10 months to cover living costs
- Tuition fee reimbursement via national support schemes of the host country
- Extended funding possibility for a second academic year (subject to budget availability)
- A total budget of €853,000, expected to support around 150 Master’s students.
Who Can Apply?
This opportunity is specifically tailored for Belarusian nationals who:
- Are at risk of political persecution (including indirect persecution, such as that faced by family/legal guardians)
- Were expelled from Belarusian universities or faced repression due to political activities (post-2020)
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree
- Have received (or are in the process of receiving) conditional or unconditional admission to a full-time Master’s program for the 2025/26 academic year in one of the eligible countries
- Can demonstrate motivation and academic readiness for graduate-level education.
Application Requirements:

- Proof of political persecution (court orders, detainment documents, media coverage, etc.), OR a recommendation letter from a human rights organization
- Admission letter or current enrollment confirmation from a university in the Czech Republic, Latvia, Lithuania, or Poland (dated within one month of applying)
- Copy of your passport.
