About the Opportunity
The Government of the Maldives is offering fully funded scholarships for selected postgraduate diploma, advanced diploma, and degree-level programs at MNU for the 2025 academic year. These scholarships are open to both Maldivian citizens and international applicants who wish to pursue academic advancement while contributing to sustainable development.
Programs Offered
The scholarships are offered for full-time postgraduate programs including (but not limited to):
- Postgraduate Diplomas
- Advanced Diplomas
- Master’s Degrees
All programs are delivered at the main campus of MNU and aligned with national development priorities.
MNU Maldives Scholarship Coverage
Each selected student will receive:
- Tuition Fee Waiver: 100% coverage of tuition costs
- Monthly Allowance: MVR 5,000 for living expenses
- Book Allowance: MVR 5,000
- Research Support Grant: MVR 5,000 for final semester research project.
Who Can Apply?
The scholarships are open to:
- Maldivian students pursuing studies at MNU
- International applicants with an offer letter for an MNU full-time postgraduate program
- Students from economically disadvantaged or underrepresented groups
- Women and minorities are especially encouraged to apply.
Academic Requirements
Applicants must:
- Have completed at least 5 O-Level/SSC passes and 3 A-Level/HSC passes or their equivalent
- Hold a recognized undergraduate degree to apply for master’s programs
- Demonstrate academic excellence and leadership potential
- Have no previous record of defaulting on any Maldivian government scholarship.

- Complete and submit the Postgraduate Program Admission Application
- Submit all required documents, including academic transcripts, a national ID or passport, and income verification (if applicable)
- Write a 500-word personal statement and a 500-word justification explaining why you should be selected
- Submit a signed agreement form for scholarship recipients.
