The Museum Wilhelm Busch – German Museum for Caricature and Drawings is now accepting applications for its prestigious Museum Fellowship 2025, aimed at fostering critical art scholarship and artistic practice rooted in the museum’s unparalleled collection. With a focus on historical and contemporary caricature from 1600 to the present, this fellowship provides a platform for deep academic engagement, creative exploration, and international exchange.

What’s the Fellowship About?

The Museum Wilhelm Busch houses thousands of works of English, French, and German caricatures and illustrations — an invaluable resource for scholars and artists alike. The Museum Fellowship seeks to support individuals at an advanced stage of a research or creative project that must relate to the museum’s collection. The culmination of the four-week fellowship includes sharing your research in the form of a lecture or equivalent presentation.

Fellowship Duration:

Four weeks between mid-August and mid-December 2025 (applicants should specify their preferred time period in the application).
