Herstart International Fellowship for 2025 by Canadian Government

A groundbreaking opportunity awaits young professionals eager to create a global impact! The HerStart International Fellowship 2025, offered by Youth Challenge International (YCI), is now accepting applications. This initiative leverages the enthusiasm and expertise of Canadian volunteers to empower 10,000 women and local organizations in Ghana, Tanzania, and Uganda through social entrepreneurship training and network-building.

Through three (03) month international placements, selected fellows will contribute to YCI’s HerStart Innovate the Future program while gaining professional experience, expanding their global networks, and collaborating with impact-driven teams in Africa.

Fellowship Benefits

HerStart International Fellows receive comprehensive support, including:

  • Pre-departure training and post-placement support
  • Round-trip airfare
  • Visa and health insurance coverage
  • A monthly living stipend
  • Hands-on international development experience

Fellowship Opportunities

Successful applicants will be placed in one of the following HerStart Fellowship roles:

  • Program & Partnerships Fellow
  • Communications & Marketing Fellow
  • Research & Learning Fellow
  • Social Entrepreneurship Fellow.

Each role is designed to align with the fellow’s skills and the program’s evolving needs.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to Canadian citizens and permanent residents
  • Passion for international development, entrepreneurship, and social impact
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Availability for a three-month international placement in Ghana, Tanzania, or Uganda.
