About the Fellowship
The Mo Ibrahim Foundation Academy Fellowship is a joint initiative between Chatham House and the Mo Ibrahim Foundation. It allows fellows to work on a research project of their choosing while participating in Chatham House’s leadership program and ongoing research activities.
Fellows will:
- Conduct independent research under the guidance of a Chatham House expert.
- Take part in leadership training through workshops and coaching.
- Contribute to ongoing research at Chatham House to expand their professional network.
Who Can Apply?
This fellowship is open to citizens of any African country. Applicants holding dual nationality that includes an African country are also eligible.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Education: A completed BA degree or equivalent with research experience.
- Career Stage: Applicants should be at the early-to-mid-stage of their career and come from academia, NGOs, business, government departments, civil society, or media.
- Interest & Knowledge: Candidates must have a keen interest in international affairs, their chosen research area, and Chatham House’s work.
- Full-Time Commitment: Fellows must work full-time during the fellowship and cannot engage in other work or studies.
Fellowship Duration & Location
- Duration: 10 months (October 2025 – July 2026).
- Location: Fellows will be based full-time in London at Chatham House, with hybrid work options available.
Fellowship Benefits
The Mo Ibrahim Foundation Academy Fellowship provides comprehensive support, including:
