Moi University, a leading public institution in Kenya, is inviting eligible students to apply for its Partial Scholarship for the 2025/2026 academic year for postgraduate programs in energy studies. This opportunity is designed to support capacity building through advanced training in energy-related fields, with funding initially established under the African Development Bank (AfDB) initiative via the Ministry of Education, Science & Technology.
Programs Covered
The scholarship is open to continuing students enrolled in the following postgraduate programs at Moi University’s School of Engineering:
- Master of Science in Energy Studies
- Doctorate (PhD) in Energy Studies
- Master of Science in Sustainable Energy & Energy Access
These programs are offered through the Department of Mechanical, Production & Energy Engineering and aim to develop skilled professionals in energy research, sustainability, and policy-making.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the partial scholarship, applicants must meet all the following conditions:
- Successfully passed their coursework and defended their research proposal at the School Graduate Studies Committee.
- Actively engaged in ongoing research, as shown by the most recent Research Progress Form signed by their academic supervisors.
- Currently employed in any of the following sectors:
- Public Universities
- Public Technical Training Institutions
- Government Line Ministries
- State Corporations and other Public Sector bodies
Scholarship Benefits
The Moi University Partial Scholarship provides financial support in the following ways:
- Covers part of the tuition fees
- Supports research-related expenses.
