Scholarship Benefits

The NUIST WMO Scholarship offers a comprehensive funding package that includes:

    • Master’s students: CNY 3,000 per month
    • Doctoral students: CNY 3,500 per month

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Citizenship: Must be a non-Chinese citizen and in good physical and mental health.
  • Age and Academic Qualifications:
    • Master’s applicants: Bachelor’s degree holder, under the age of 35.
    • Doctoral applicants: Master’s degree holder, under the age of 40.
  • Academic Performance: Applicants must have a strong academic record with a minimum CGPA of 3.0/4.0.
  • English Proficiency: Applicants from non-English-speaking countries must provide valid TOEFL (80+) or IELTS (6.0+) scores.
  • University Admission Requirements: Must meet all academic and admission criteria set by NUIST.

Application Process

Step 1 – Apply for the Chinese Government Scholarship

    • Visit Chinese Government Scholarship Information System
    • Select “Scholarship Application for Students”
    • Choose Program Category A and enter Agency Number 00002
    • Complete and submit the Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship
    • Print and sign the completed form.

Step 2 – Obtain WMO Nomination: Secure a nomination from the Permanent Representative of your country with WMO.

Step 3 – Apply for Pre-Admission at NUIST

Step 4 – Submit Documents to WMO Secretariat

    • Send the WMO FNF, CSC online application form, and NUIST pre-admission letter to the WMO Secretariat before the deadline.

Placement and Scholarship Confirmation

    1. CSC reviews applications submitted through WMO and verifies eligibility.
    2. Qualified applications are forwarded to NUIST for placement.
    3. Scholarship decisions are made by CSC, and recipients are informed.
    4. CSC issues admission documents (including Visa Application Form JW201) to WMO Secretariat for final distribution.
    5. Recipients must not change their university, program, or duration of study as per the admission letter.
    6. Annual scholarship reviews must be passed to maintain funding.
