SFR2CC Project Scholarship 2025/2026 at Kabale University

An incredible opportunity has just opened up for aspiring environmental champions in Uganda! Kabale University, in collaboration with Mountains of the Moon University (MMU), invites early-career Ugandan scientists to apply for the prestigious SFR2CC Project Scholarship for the 2025/2026 academic year.

This fully-funded scholarship is part of a climate-resilience initiative titled “Strengthening Smallholder Farmer Resilience to Climate Change through Joint Learning, Development, and Evaluation of Contextualised Solutions (SFR2CC)”—a project supported by the Water and Development Partnership Programme of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.


What’s the SFR2CC Project About?

Focused on the Rwenzori and Kigezi highland regions, this project aims to strengthen smallholder farmer resilience through innovative, research-driven, on-farm water management solutions. Partners in this mission include Kigezi Women in Development (KWID) and Joint Effort to Save the Environment (JESE).

  • Reserved Slots: At least 40% of the scholarships are dedicated to female applicants and individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Who Is Eligible?

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be under 35 years old for males or 40 years old for females.
  • Hold a second-class upper division (or better) in Environmental, Agricultural, Biological, or Natural Sciences.
  • Have a valid admission letter for the MSc in Environment and Natural Resources at Kabale University.

Application Timeline

The last date to apply for the SFR2CC Project Scholarship at Kabale University is Friday, 26th July 2025, by 5:00 PM (local time). Applicants who pass the initial screening will be notified of their pre-selection status by 30th July 2025. Oral interviews for shortlisted candidates will be conducted by 10th August 2025, and the final list of scholarship awardees will be officially announced by 20th August 2025.
