Overview of the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme

Launched in 2013, the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme is managed by the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and coordinated by Tempus Public Foundation. The programme was created to increase the number of international students in Hungary, foster global education partnerships, and enhance Hungary’s higher education reputation.

Available Stipend Hungaricum 2025-2026 Scholarship Types

This Stipend Hungaricum 2025 for bachelors, masters and non-degree programmes covers:

• Bachelor’s Programmes (2–4 years)
• Master’s Programmes (1.5–2 years)
• One-tier Master’s Programmes (5–6 years)
• Non-degree Preparatory Courses (1 year)
• Postgraduate Specialist Training Courses (1–2 years)

Package of the Scholarship

Recipients of the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship are entitled to several benefits:

• Tuition-free education: Exemption from paying tuition fees.
• Monthly stipend: HUF 43,700 (approx. EUR 110) for non-degree, bachelor’s, master’s, and one-tier master’s level students.
• Accommodation support: Either free dormitory space (subject to availability) or a monthly contribution of HUF 40,000 (approx. EUR 100).
• Health insurance: Basic medical services and supplementary medical insurance worth up to HUF 65,000 (approx. EUR 160) per year.

1. Prepare Documents: Essential documents include an online application form, motivation letter, proof of language proficiency, school certificates, transcripts, and a copy of an identification document.
2. Submit Online: Complete and submit the application through Tempus Public Foundation’s portal https://apply.stipendiumhungaricum.hu/.
3. Contact Sending Partner: Ensure your application is also submitted to the relevant authority in your country.
4. Successful candidates should prepare for immediate visa application processes and arrival in Hungary before 30 September 2025.
