The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) invites applications for the 13th ASEF Public Diplomacy Training (ASEFPDT13)—a prestigious hybrid program designed to empower diplomats and civil servants with essential public diplomacy skills.
What is ASEFPDT13?
Launched in 2013, ASEFPDT is a specialized training program aimed at strengthening public diplomacy efforts across the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) region. The program features two core components:
- Online Course: 15 September – 20 October 2025
- Face-to-Face Training in Singapore: 1–5 December 2025.
Financial Support
There are no registration or participation fees. The program covers travel (within a ceiling) and accommodation costs for selected participants.
What You’ll Learn?
The training enhances participants’ capabilities in:
- Designing effective public diplomacy campaigns
- Navigating AI tools in digital diplomacy
- Understanding bi-regional dynamics and public perceptions
- Collaborating with state and non-state actors
- Strengthening Asia-Europe networks
The online component, led by DiploFoundation, requires 5–7 hours per week and includes asynchronous lectures, collaborative peer-to-peer interactions, and one live class per week. Successful completion of the online course is mandatory for joining the in-person training in Singapore, hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore.
Who Can Apply?
Eligible candidates must be:
- From one of the 53 ASEM Partner countries*
- Early-/mid-career diplomats or civil servants currently working in Asia-Europe contexts
- Holders of an MA degree (or BA with at least 3 years of experience)
- Highly proficient in English
- Interested in public diplomacy, public affairs, or communications.
