2026 intake Scholarships of IKY State Scholarships Foundation Open

The State Scholarships Foundation (I.K.Y.), in cooperation with Fulbright Greece, has officially announced the new call for mobility scholarships for the academic year 2026–2027. This initiative is designed to strengthen academic ties between Greece and the United States, supporting scientific exchange and collaborative research between institutions of higher education in both countries.

IKY Scholarship Package

For the upcoming academic year, up to four (4) mobility scholarships will be awarded. These scholarships provide U.S. Ph.D. candidates the opportunity to spend six months in Greece conducting research as part of their doctoral dissertation. The funding package includes:

  • Round trip travel expenses to and from Greece.
  • Settling-in allowance to cover initial costs of relocation.
  • Monthly maintenance allowance to support living expenses during the stay.
  • Research materials allowance for fieldwork, academic resources, or related needs.

This comprehensive financial support ensures recipients can fully focus on their research without financial burdens.

Eligibility Criteria

The scholarships are open to:

  • U.S. Ph.D. candidates who are enrolled in accredited institutions of higher education in the United States.
  • Applicants from all scientific disciplines, as the program covers a wide range of academic research areas.
