Step 1: Complete the DS-260 & Create Your Visa Profile

Your journey begins with Form DS-260, the Immigrant Visa Electronic Application. Every family member applying for a U.S. immigrant visa must fill this out. But that’s not all. You must also register your online visa account via the Visa Appointment Services website, which will:

  • Confirm your visa interview appointment
  • Enable you to choose where to pick up your passport after approval
  • Allow you to reschedule your appointment (only after your original date)

Don’t forget: You must bring your Courier Confirmation page (proof of registration) with you to the Embassy. No confirmation, no entry!

Step 2: Medical Exam — No Exceptions, No Delays!

All applicants, regardless of age, must undergo a medical examination through the Embassy-approved clinicVisa Medicals in London. Book early by calling 0207 486 7822, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Timeline Warning: Your medical exam must be done at least 2 weeks before your scheduled visa interview. Miss this deadline, and your appointment will be delayed—costing you time and peace of mind.

Step 3: Document Review Day — Don’t Miss It!

Immediately after your medical exam, you’ll head over to the U.S. Embassy’s Immigrant Visa Unit in London for your Document Review between 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM.

What you’ll need:

  • The Pink Document Review Sheet handed to you by Visa Medicals
  • All your required documents

No Pink Sheet = No Entry. This visit is crucial and serves as your gateway to the final visa interview.

Step 4: Attend Your Visa Interview — The Final Gate

Your second and final visit to the U.S. Embassy is your official visa interview, based on the appointment date confirmed via your online profile.
