Each year, Lund University awards approximately SEK 20.5 million (€1.75 million / $1.85 million) in scholarships to outstanding international students. The scholarship programme is highly competitive and aims to attract the brightest minds to study at Lund University, known for its academic excellence and global reputation.
Scholarship Coverage
The Lund University Global Scholarship 2025 offers partial or full tuition fee grants, depending on the budget allocated to the specific programme or faculty. The percentage of tuition covered is determined by the available funds and does not solely reflect the student’s academic standing. However, it is important to note that this scholarship does not cover living expenses but allow students to work for 20 hours per week.
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible for the Lund University Global Scholarship 2025, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a citizen of a non-EU/EEA country (including Switzerland) and required to pay tuition fees.
- Apply for a Master’s degree programme at Lund University during the regular application round.
- Exceptionally, Bachelor’s applicants for Development Studies, Mathematics, Physics, and Physical Geography may also apply.
- The Lund University programme must be the first choice on their application at universityadmissions.se.
Application Process
1# Apply for a programme: Candidates must first apply for a degree programme at Lund University through www.universityadmissions.se within the standard admission period.
2# Submit a scholarship application: Once the university application is complete and the application fee is paid, applicants will receive an email with a link to the Lund University Global Scholarship application portal https://www.lunduniversity.lu.se/admissions/bachelors-and-masters-studies/scholarships-and-awards/lund-university-global-scholarship.
3# Write a Scholarship Motivation Letter: Applicants must submit a 600-word motivation letter detailing their academic achievements and why they are an ideal candidate for the Lund University Global Scholarship.
