Telesat’s Indigenous Fellowships 2025 Open

Telesat, a global leader in satellite communications, has just unveiled its 2025 National Fellowship for Indigenous Youth, an extraordinary initiative aimed at empowering Indigenous Canadians to excel in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields.
With Indigenous representation in STEM currently standing at less than 2%, this fellowship is designed to break down barriers and open doors to impactful careers in the space sector. Two outstanding Indigenous students will be awarded not just scholarships but also hands-on industry experience through paid internships at Telesat’s cutting-edge facilities.

Who Can Apply? Check the Eligibility Criteria!
To be eligible for this prestigious fellowship, you must:
- Identify as a Status Indian, Non-Status Indian, Inuit, or Métis.
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
- Be pursuing full-time undergraduate studies for your first bachelor’s degree or diploma.
- Be enrolled in an engineering or technology discipline related to Telesat’s operations.
- Be willing to relocate for the paid internship to one of Telesat’s sites in Calgary, Winnipeg, Montreal, Iqaluit, Allan Park (ON), Gatineau, or the headquarters in Ottawa.
- Maintain a minimum cumulative average of 70% (or equivalent) across your last three terms of study.
