French Embassy Scholarships 2025 for Students from Ghana

The French Embassy in Ghana has announced the opening of applications for its 2025-2026 Master’s Scholarship program, offering full scholarships to exceptional Ghanaian students. This initiative aims to promote academic cooperation and student mobility between Ghana and France. Scholarships are awarded on a merit and needs basis to students pursuing a Master 1 (M1) or Master 2 (M2) degree in eligible fields of study in France.

Scholarship Coverage and Duration

The scholarship supports:

  • Two academic years for students admitted into Master 1 (M1).
  • One academic year for students admitted into Master 2 (M2).

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Ghanaian nationality and residence in Ghana.
  • Be under 30 years old.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree relevant to the chosen Master’s program.
  • Have completed National Service.
  • Possess First Class or Second-Class Upper academic performance (priority consideration given).
  • Must be fully committed to pursuing a Master’s degree in France for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 academic years.
  • French proficiency is NOT required, except for candidates applying for a Master’s in French as a Foreign Language (FLE).

Scholarship Application Timeline

The last date to apply for the French Embassy in Ghana Scholarship for Master’s Students 2025-2026 is April 30, 2025. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed between May and June 2025. The visa application process for selected recipients will begin in July 2025, and the academic year will commence in September/October 2025, with students departing for France.
