AEON Scholarship 2025 for International Students at Kyoto University

AEON Scholarship Benefits

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be self-financed international students from one of the following countries: India, Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, China, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Laos.
  • Be enrolled at Kyoto University as a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd-year undergraduate student or 1st-year master’s student.
  • Have a valid student visa with “Study Abroad” residence status.
  • Be under 30 years old as of April 1, 2025.
  • Not be receiving other scholarships (excluding travel or admission fee grants).
  • Have at least N3 level Japanese proficiency (JLPT) or equivalent proof of Japanese language ability.
  • Demonstrate financial need (monthly living expenses below 100,000 JPY, requiring part-time work).
  • Be committed to contributing to fields such as retail, service, finance, agriculture, IT, environment, and development.

The last date to apply for the AEON Scholarship 2025 is March 21, 2025, at 12:00 PM. Students must submit their applications via email to the Kyoto University Academic Affairs Division. The announcement of recommended students will be made on March 25, 2025, and selected candidates must submit their final documents by April 2, 2025, at 5:00 PM. Shortlisted applicants will undergo an online interview in Japanese, with final selection results announced in late June 2025.
