Fully-funded ITS-IEEE Fellowship 2025 for Promoting Women, Young Professionals, and Leadership

Are you passionate about intelligent transportation systems (ITS) and eager to be part of a global movement promoting diversity, leadership, and innovation? The IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Society (ITSS) is excited to announce the 2025 Fellowship Program for Promoting Women, Young Professionals, and Leadership in ITS, with a unique opportunity to attend the Annual ITS WiE/YP Workshop & Research Forum in Paris, France from June 26–28, 2025fully funded!

This prestigious program aims to empower individuals from diverse backgrounds by engaging them in the development of IEEE ITSS activities, organizing technical events, and amplifying the Society’s global outreach.

Who Can Apply? — Eligibility Criteria

This opportunity is open to:

  • Women, young professionals, and applicants from underrepresented groups in engineering and ITS.
  • Applicants from all backgrounds who bring diverse perspectives to ITSS.
  • IEEE ITSS members only (membership is required for proposal submission).
  • Those willing to contribute to ITSS activities such as organizing events, creating content, webinars, or reviewing academic work.

Program Structure & Proposal Streams

Applicants must submit a non-technical project proposal that promotes the ITSS community. Choose one of the following streams:

  1. Social Media Ambassadors
    Promote ITSS through creative digital content, blogs, videos, and social media outreach.

  2. First-Time Attendees
    Open to newcomers to ITSS events, especially women and young professionals, with ideas to support diversity and inclusion.

  3. Outstanding Contributors
    For experienced professionals or students who have made significant contributions to ITS through service, education, or publications.

Each proposal should align with one or more ITSS Standing Committee themes: Technical, Educational, Conferences, Standards, Membership, Women in Engineering (WiE), Young Professionals (YP), and Outreach.

Application Timeline

The application process for the 2025 Fellowship Program for Promoting Women, Young Professionals, and Leadership in ITS begins with the submission of project proposals, which must be completed by April 7, 2025. Successful applicants will be notified of their selection by April 15, 2025.

Following the announcement, the Project Completion Phase will run from April 16 to June 15, 2025, during which fellows will develop their proposed initiatives. All fellows are required to submit progress reports every four weeks and a final report by June 20, 2025.

This timeline ensures selected fellows are fully prepared to participate in and contribute to the ITS WiE/YP Workshop & Research Forum in Paris, taking place from June 26–28, 2025.
