ECNU Excellent Freshmen Scholarship 2025 for International Undergraduate Students

Are you an outstanding international high school graduate dreaming of studying in China? The East China Normal University (ECNU) is calling for applications for its Excellent Freshmen Scholarship—a prestigious opportunity for top-performing non-Chinese students enrolling in full-time undergraduate programs for the 2025 academic year.

The Excellent Freshmen Scholarship is designed to recognize and support academically exceptional students who have demonstrated excellence in high school and international or national competitions. This opportunity is open to applicants pursuing full-time undergraduate degrees at ECNU (excluding 2+2, 1+3, and English-taught BA programs). The scholarship aims to nurture the next generation of global leaders by welcoming high achievers into ECNU’s diverse academic environment.


Freshmen Scholarship Covers

Successful candidates will receive:

  • Living allowance of 2,500 RMB/month for a full year (12 months).
  • Note: The scholarship does not cover tuition fees or offer tuition exemptions.

Eligibility Criteria

1# Who Can Apply?

    • Non-Chinese citizens in good health.
    • High school graduates under the age of 25.
    • Applicants with excellent academic performance in high school.
    • Priority is given to those who have won awards in major national or international competitions.
    • Applicants must not be receiving any other scholarships or fellowships.

2# Language Requirement:

    • Must have a valid HSK-5 certificate with a score of 180 or above.

3# Program Limitations:

    • Not applicable for 2+2 or 1+3 joint programs.
    • Not applicable for English-taught BA programs.
