The Asia Foundation is officially inviting applications for the prestigious 2025 William P. Fuller Fellowship in Peacebuilding. The program, which supports innovative leaders from Asia and the Pacific committed to resolving conflict and promoting peace, opened its application portal on April 18, 2025 — and will remain open until June 1, 2025.
This year’s fellowship promises a transformative journey for three (03) early-to-mid-career professionals selected from the Asia-Pacific region. Fellows will embark on a two-week immersive peacebuilding study tour in the United States from October 13 to 24, 2025, visiting key peace and policy hubs in San Francisco, New York City, and Washington, D.C.
But the opportunity doesn’t stop there.
What Does the Fuller Fellowship Offer?
- U.S.-based Study Tour: Fellows will gain hands-on experience through visits to influential peacebuilding institutions, engaging dialogues, and leadership sessions.
- Professional Development Grant: Each fellow will receive flexible funding to support a personal project or further professional development goals.
- Virtual Seminar Series: Before and after the U.S. exchange, fellows will join virtual workshops with experts from The Asia Foundation’s Peace and Stability and Leadership and Exchange programs.
- Global Network Access: Fellows will be connected with a dynamic community of global peacebuilders, mentors, and field experts.
Who Should Apply?
Ideal candidates are:
- Passionate about advancing peacebuilding initiatives in the Asia-Pacific through research, advocacy, policymaking, or community-based practice.
- Between 18 and 40 years old (born after October 13, 1985).
- From one of the eligible countries: Nepal, Cambodia, Mongolia, Indonesia, Timor-Leste, Philippines, Laos, Japan, Thailand, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Bhutan, Singapore, Pakistan, Malaysia, Pacific Islands, or Afghanistan.
- Fluent in English, with strong leadership qualities and at least 3 years of professional experience.
- Capable of designing and executing an individual project or coursework plan.
- Able to secure a U.S. visa and commit to the October 13–24, 2025 in-person program.
