White House Internships Now Accepting Applications for Summer and Fall 2025

The prestigious White House Internship Program is now officially open for Summer and Fall 2025 applicants, offering students and recent graduates the opportunity to gain firsthand experience working at the highest level of the U.S. government.

This unique, fully immersive internship places selected individuals within the Office of the President, supporting the day-to-day operations of departments such as Communications, Domestic Policy, Management and Administration, Legislative Affairs, Public Engagement, and more.

Summer 2025 Internship Timeline

  • Application Deadline: April 23, 2025
  • Acceptance Notifications Sent By: May 9, 2025
  • Internship Period: June 4 – August 8, 2025.

Fall 2025 Internship Timeline

• • Application Posted: May 14, 2025
  • Application Deadline: June 4, 2025
  • Acceptance Notifications Sent By: June 30, 2025
  • Internship Period: September 17 – December 12, 2025.

What Is the White House Internship Program?

The program serves as a hands-on learning opportunity for aspiring public servants, giving interns the chance to engage in meaningful work and network with White House officials, federal leaders, and policymakers. Interns are placed in various Presidential Departments, depending on their interests and experience.

What Departments Can Interns Work In?

Depending on their background and application strength, interns may be assigned to:

• Office of the First Lady
• Office of Public Engagement
• Office of Intergovernmental Affairs
• Office of Digital Strategy
• Office of Management and Administration
• Office of Legislative Affairs
• Domestic Policy Council
• National Economic Council…and other executive offices.

How to Apply?

Applications must be submitted through the official White House Internship Program portal and all applicants will need to:

• Complete an online application form
• Submit a current resume
• Write short personal essays
• Provide two letters of recommendation

The application deadline for the Summer 2025 White House Internship is April 23, 2025.
