What Is the White House Internship Program?
The program serves as a hands-on learning opportunity for aspiring public servants, giving interns the chance to engage in meaningful work and network with White House officials, federal leaders, and policymakers. Interns are placed in various Presidential Departments, depending on their interests and experience.
What Departments Can Interns Work In?
Depending on their background and application strength, interns may be assigned to:
- Office of the First Lady
- Office of Public Engagement
- Office of Intergovernmental Affairs
- Office of Digital Strategy
- Office of Management and Administration
- Office of Legislative Affairs
- Domestic Policy Council
- National Economic Council…and other executive offices.
How to Apply?
Applications must be submitted through the official White House Internship Program portal and all applicants will need to:
- Complete an online application form
- Submit a current resume
- Write short personal essays
- Provide two letters of recommendation
