TWAS National Center of Physics Fellowship 2025 Inviting Applications

Are you a young scientist from a developing country with a passion for physics or space sciences? The TWAS-NCP Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme 2025 is now inviting applications from talented researchers around the world (excluding Pakistan) for a transformative research experience at one of South Asia’s premier research institutions — the National Centre for Physics (NCP) in Islamabad, Pakistan.

About the Fellowship

This fully funded fellowship is an incredible opportunity for postdoctoral researchers to immerse themselves in advanced scientific fields, from Astrophysics and Quantum Information to 3D Printing, AI, Plasma Physics, and more. Hosted by NCP and supported by TWAS – The World Academy of Sciences, the fellowship offers the chance to collaborate in state-of-the-art labs and work under expert supervisors.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be a permanent resident of a developing country other than Pakistan.
  • Hold a PhD in natural sciences, awarded within the last 5 years.
  • Be regularly employed in a developing country and engaged in research.
  • Not hold any temporary or permanent residency in Pakistan or a developed country.
  • Be in good health (certified by a doctor).
  • Prove English proficiency (if prior education was not in English).
  • Submit a preliminary Acceptance Letter from NCP (see process below).
  • Commit to returning to their home country post-fellowship.
  • Not undertake other assignments during the fellowship.
  • Be financially responsible for any accompanying family members.

  1. Before Applying:
    Request a preliminary acceptance letter from NCP.

    Only acceptance letters dated in 2025 will be valid!

  2. Online Application:
    Once you have your acceptance letter, complete your application via the TWAS online portal.
