King College London Launches Fully Funded Scholarships for 2025-26 Intake

If you’re an internationally trained sonographer dreaming of upgrading your skills in the UK while studying for free—King’s College London just opened the doors wide!

The university has officially announced the NHSE-funded Internationally Qualified Sonographers Scholarships for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 academic years. Up to 20 scholarships are available for the upcoming intake, specifically designed to help qualified sonographers gain recognition and practice ultrasound clinically in the UK with a CASE-accredited Postgraduate Certificate (Pg Cert) in Clinical Ultrasound.


What’s the Aim?

This pioneering initiative supports international sonographers transitioning into the UK healthcare system by:

  • Building a personalized academic and clinical portfolio.
  • Aligning overseas training with UK-level 7 academic standards.
  • Offering the opportunity to register with the Register of Clinical Technologists (RCT) for voluntary professional recognition.

Scholarship Benefits

Successful candidates will receive full tuition coverage for the Pg Cert Clinical Ultrasound program:

Who Can Apply?

These scholarships are open to:

  • International Sonographers recruited by NHSE as part of the CDC International Recruitment Strategy.
  • Currently employed international sonographers working in the UK NHS (excluding obstetrics).
  • Candidates meeting King’s College’s general eligibility criteria for Clinical Ultrasound programs.

Applicants must have secured a UK NHS placement (minimum 14 hours/week) beginning from September 2025.

Selection Process

  • Initial applications will be reviewed and eligible candidates will be invited for a 30-minute Microsoft Teams interview.
  • Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend a workshop at King’s College London.
  • Some candidates may take an entrance exam to claim credits for prior learning in General Medical Ultrasound and Physics modules.

All successful applicants will be notified by September 1, 2025.
