What is the Malta Government Undergraduate Scheme?
This initiative provides financial grants and stipends to students undertaking full-time, on-campus undergraduate studies at licensed institutions in Malta or abroad. The aim is to expand access to quality higher education in priority academic areas.
What You’ll Get?
The support varies depending on the type of course you are enrolled in: General, Prescribed, or High Priority.

Note: Payments are made between October 1st and June 30th each academic year.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, students must:
- Be enrolled as a full-time student at:
- A licensed higher education or tuition center in Malta, OR
- A foreign institution offering an MQF Level 6 recognized qualification.
- Be physically present on campus.
❌ Not eligible: Distance learning, part-time, full-time distance, or blended courses.
How to Apply?
Applications are submitted online, and students must upload the following:
- Letter of Acceptance (with course start/end dates, MQF Level, and confirmation of full-time status).
- MQRIC Verification Report (if applicable).
- Copy of your ID card (both sides).
- Proof of eligibility documents under Regulation 2(a).
- Receipt of first-year tuition payment or proof of course commencement if tuition is waived.
