The newly established research group of Jun.-Prof. Dr. Kenichi Endo at the University of Stuttgart’s Institute of Polymer Chemistry is now inviting applications for PhD and postdoctoral positions. These positions are part of the Collaborative Research Center (CRC) 1333, focusing on Molecular Heterogeneous Catalysis in Confined Geometries, and are available immediately, with funding secured until December 2026.

About the Research Project

As part of the team, you’ll delve into the synthesis of MOF–COF hybrid frameworks (Figure 1 in the official call) with catalytic centers and explore their application in organic molecule conversion. This research has powerful implications for material innovation, sustainable chemistry, and nano-engineering.


Who Should Apply?

Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in Chemistry or Materials Science and have a solid background in one or more of the following areas:

  • (Metal)organic synthesis
  • Catalysis of organic reactions
  • Molecular porous materials

Additional skills (not mandatory but preferred):

  • Schlenk line or glovebox techniques
  • PXRD, NMR, SEM, IR, UV–vis, ESI-MS, gas sorption, electrochemistry
  • Python or Materials Studio software knowledge.

Excellent English communication skills and motivation to engage in CRC events and interdisciplinary collaboration are essential.
